Dark trees amongst the snow falling in Lake Tahoe
Gusts of wind blow the fresh snow into a cloud of white in a Lake Tahoe forest.

Black and white photography has always been my favorite form of photography. This is where I learned and began my journey. Deep in the dark room, dodging and burning at an enlarger, waiting each step through the chemicals, then emerging into the blinding light,  just to see if  the image was successful. That was just over ten years ago and I swear I can still smell the chemicals. However, now that process for me has changed. The dark room is now digital and results are more instantaneous. Pushing contrast, adding filters, dodging and burning becomes easier and less committing, but still nothing beats the hands on of the real dark room.

This is my growing collection of Black and White images.
